Corporate Sailing - Admirals Cup Yacht
Total Teamwork is what we do.
SiA have designed a course designed for absolute beginners or teams with some prior knowledge of yachting. We provide our teams with a quality sailing yacht that is ideal for learning. Switchblade is A Class 1 IOR Racing Yacht( built for Sydney Hobart and the Admiral’s Cup race) which can take groups of 8- 14 persons sailing.
The Team Building is structured to ensure the learners become proficient cruising crew. High quality coaching ensures everybody has fun and learns how to become a useful crew member. Switchblade has been laid out so that every member of the crew has a job that interrelates to the rest of the crew.
The physical layout of the boat is first class and enables each member to be efficient at their task. The day begins at anchorage, where the crews are allocated their skipper / instructor and are briefed on the activity.
The morning is spent learning how to hoist sails, trim sails, manage winches and to become effective as a team while sailing in Bay. (Lunch is at a local restaurant on one of the sur- rounding islands or can be a picnic). After lunch, the crew learn the finer points of sail handling and improve their boat handling skills. The days activities are concluded with a low key , fun sail or if possible the hoisting and flying of one of Switchblade’s enormous spinnakers.
Sail in Asia (SiA) encourage your team to learn by participation and by example. Our skipper instructors familiarise your team with skills and knowledge, in a clear and sequential manner, building up their confidence and competence, slowly but steadily.
SiA supply quality boats, tuition, and of course beverages. The cruising day ends at a tranquil anchorage and the crews are invited to debrief with a cool beverage on the beach. This event is a superb opportunity to learn to sail in spectacular sailing areas, on a special boat with quality instruction!
